What it does

Short video creates a short product video from an on-model or flat-lay photo. A ready video template sets the scene, the light and the camera move; you choose the product, the model and the background. The output is an MP4 file.

It works well for product pages, social posts and ads. If you already have a generated photo, you can also start a video straight from the project page: Creating a video from a photo.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Open Short video

Choose the Short video card on the Create screen. The steps are Product › Motion › Models › Background › Summary.

  2. Step 2: Upload the photo and confirm its type

Drag the image in or press Select photo. On the Your photo looks like … screen pick the right type: an on-model photo or a flat-lay / mannequin photo. Then press Continue.

  3. Step 3: Add extra photos if you like

Under Extra photos (optional) you can upload a Back and a Detail photo. They make the back and close-up shots in the video match the product exactly. Their short side must be at least 256 pixels.

  4. Step 4: Pick a video template

The Motion step opens the Video template screen. Choose Women or Men and find a template that suits your product using the category tabs (e.g. All). Each card shows the template name, a description and its credit cost.

  5. Step 5: Pick the model

The video flow uses a single model. If you uploaded an on-model photo, you can keep your own model with the Person in the photo card or pick a model from the catalogue. For a flat-lay photo you need to pick a catalogue model.

  6. Step 6: Pick the background

The template’s scene is preselected as the background; change it if you like, or choose Keep the original background.

  7. Step 7: Check the summary and generate

The Summary shows the models × motions line (one model and one motion make one video) and the total credits. Press Generate; the video is prepared on the project page.

Tips for good results

  • In an on-model photo the face must be sharp and the framing wide enough; a video cannot be made from very tight or blurry shots.
  • For open-back, laced or otherwise different backs, always add the Back photo. Without a back photo the system does not invent the back of the product.
  • Templates are grouped by product category and your product’s category is preselected. A template from the right category contains the shots where the product looks best.
  • New film templates focus on front, side and detail shots; they do not include shots with the model fully turned away.
  • The video length is not shown separately on screen; the preview on the template card shows how the video flows.

Credits and time

The credit cost depends on the template and is shown on the template card and on the Summary screen before you generate. With default pricing a single-clip video costs 5 credits; multi-shot films multiply by the number of shots (5 credits per shot). Premium and exclusive models add credits; the background choice does not change the video cost.

Credits are held when the generation starts and refunded automatically if the video cannot be made. Details: How credits work

Common problems

I get “A video cannot be made from this photo”.

The face is not sharp enough or the framing is too tight. Try a wider shot where the model’s face is clearly visible, or use a flat-lay photo with a catalogue model.

A template says “This motion style is not available right now”.

That template is temporarily turned off. Choose another template from the same category.

My extra photo won’t upload.

The short side of a back or detail photo must be at least 256 pixels. If an extra photo fails to upload, the flow does not move on; remove it and try again.

Where do I download the video?

When it is ready, use Download video on the project page to get the MP4: Projects.
